CIARAS NEW YEARS RESOLUTION...TO FINALLY WORK WITH..
R+b star Ciara has already made a New Year's resolution - to collaborate with Alicia Keys.

The Goodies singer is so desperate to team up with Keys on a track, she has made it a priority mission for 2008.

She says, "I've always thought she was very beautiful and very talented but I'm starting to have a different respect for her and her music."

Ciara Experiment
....Last night, she was taping scenes for her new movie coming out. I got to go to the taping to be an extra in the crowd because my friend is one of the casting coordinators. It was a looooooooooooooooooooong, looooooooooooooooooong night because we were supposed to be there and start at 4pm. I got there around 8 cuz i knew what the deal was with these movie tapings, but anyway, she didn't arrive until like 7 and we didn't get to do our "crowd" scene until 10pm.

Well, she had a performance scene which was GREAT, but the song she performed was "I Proceed" which I thought was kinda weird considering she was going by "Amaura" in the movie, not Ciara. She also did another song that was pre-recorded by someone else. She told us all before she started that it was not her real voice because she did want us to be like "Uhhnn uhnn, that don't sound like her for real." (lol) But anywho, they did A LOT of takes of that scene and babygirl is so hilarious and down to earth. She was so tired that she had to keep making jokes to keep herself and everybody else up and alert. Also, she was in these heels for a long ass time so by the end of the night she was walking around limping. It was funny.

Also, after each take when the director and crew discussed things, she would kinda go into her own little world and start singing RANDOM songs all jumbled in together, making up lil songs, etc. She sang Toni Braxton's "Seven Whole Days" and "You're Making Me High". She sang "Creep" (Yes, she did...i was shocked cuz it was all so random and medley style) and a lot of other songs. She was making a whole lotta jokes. She doesn't act anything like she does in her interviews where she's all modest and stuff. She let that southern slang and dialect come out a little bit.

She really paid attention to all the "extras", entertaining us, talking to us in between takes, thanking us for coming, callin us her family, and giving us encouraging words. I thought that was cool of her cuz she coulda easily did her part and kept to herself until the next take. Instead, she was like "Decatur in dis thang, SOUTHSIIIDE, where da westside at?" She showed us a lot of love.

At the end, she said asked the director if there was enough time for us to take pictures and stuff, shake hands, etc. They said yeah so we all did and she was just so sweet to everybody. She's definitely not on that Hollywood shit at all. We finally got out of there a little after 1am. She had to stay and do more scenes. It was very tiring, but I had a great night. Just wanted to share.

this was on another board (cybertlc)....by someone who isnt even a ciara stan

THE EVOLUTION
Atlanta, GA. 11:30 p.m.:

Celebrities start pulling up to the club, and Ne-Yo is the first to show. Flanked by his bodyguard and an entourage full of women, he greeted the press with head-nods and handshakes as he walked down the red carpet into the club.

He was followed by the likes of Bobby Valentino, Goodie Mob's Big Gipp, Youngbloodz' J-bo, Lil Scrappy and Flavor of Love's Bootz.

But none made a bigger entrance than the birthday girl herself - Ciara. Arriving a little past the midnight hour, she pulled up in a white Phantom, which seem more like a chariot than a luxury vehicle.

Surrounded by just her assistant, father, publicist, and a few friends, she gracefully walked the red carpet in an all-black ensemble, complete with black tights and black boots. She was greeted with a barrage of birthday shout-outs from the crowd.

VIBE: How does it feel to be 22?
CIARA: It's a blessing, it's a big deal. I'm very thankful for this year and everything's that's happened prior to this year. I'm excited about moving forward as well. I feel very blessed.

VIBE: Why multiple birthday parties?
CIARA: For my 21st birthday, I wanted to do a really big party and I didn't get a chance to, because I was promoting my album, and it was so much going on. So I said exiting 21, I wanted something big, and that's exactly what's happening right now. I'm not really a party person like that, but I'm enjoying myself with all the parties so far.

VIBE: What's going to make this year more special than last year?
CIARA: Just another year in life, and as you grow older, you gain more wisdom and experience. I'm living my dream, and I hope they can grow bigger and bigger. I hope that I can have a positive year ahead.

VIBE: What are some of your upcoming projects?
CIARA: I'm looking forward to going in and recording some records. I'm also going on tour with Rhianna in Europe, and my movie comes out. It's called "Mama, I Want to Sing!" with Patti Labelle, Lynn Whitfield, Hill Harper and Billy Zane.

Inside, the party was in full swing. DJ Trauma was spinning on the ones and twos and Ciara and all those who came to celebrate with her tore up the dance floor. Ne-Yo paid respects by singing "Happy Birthday" as she was presented with a large cake covered with red rose petals.

Her father, Carlton Harris, proceeded to tell the crowd how proud he was of his daughter, and how happy he was to see his child experience another year of life.

Ciara then jumped into an impromptu performance, singing along with all her many hits - from "Goodies," to "1 & 2 Step," to "Promise."

(RUMOR)   CIARA RECIEVING GOODIES
' You can't accuse 50 Cent of not being a romantic at heart. The rapper chartered a jet full of presents for his singer girlfriend Ciara's 22nd birthday.

Fiddy filled the plane with thousands of pounds worth of goodies, including fresh rose petals, teddy bears, candles and chocolates from a Dublin cake shop, and had it flown to the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo.

He also told 3am that he would treat her to 22 birthday parties at various exotic locations around the world.

Talk about keen. '

Ciara Celebrates Her 22nd Birthday, Soon Will Begin Working On Her New Album

As part of her 5 city birthday tour, Ciara celebrated her 22nd birthday this weekend at club Runway. RealTalkNY got a chance to ask her a few questions before she danced the night away. Ciara revealed she will begin working on her new album in the near future and may have some TV projects in the works. Ciara seems way to sweet and wholesome to have ever been with 50, but who knows.

HIP HOP HONURS PERFORMANCE
from the look of things it looks like they are performing lose control but eve is there
Next up: Missy. Her dancers materialized on stage while Eve stands stage left sipping coffee, watching a pint-sized breakdancer who can’t be more than six years old do backflips. Ciara, looking all-business in skin-tight jeans, four inches heels and perma-sunglasses struts to the end of the catwalk, rehearsing her moves. Keyshia Cole, who’s fresh off having the second biggest record sales of the week, comes in, hands off her bags to one of her three mountain-sized attendants, and hops on stage. It’s the apex of hip-hop diva-dom. The crew begins its medley with Tweet, killing the “The Rain.” Eve’s wheeled out decked in beauty parlor gear to play on the classic line “get your nails done, get a pedicure, get your hair did” from “Work It” – then goes straight into “Hot Boys” – the first track that Eve and Missy ever worked on together. Keyshia Cole joins Eve on stage for “Get Ur Freak On,” before Ciara channels some Control-era Janet Jackson for “Lose Control,” 2005’s summer anthem. When the number ended, all the ladies connected, Keyshia Cole saying hello to Tweet and giving Ciara a hug.
As the final set started, an older gent descended from the stairs and began warmly extolling the merits of the “D-O-double-G” – Mr. Snoop Dogg. It was a minute before I realized that it’s Harvey Keitel. He told the genesis story of Bow Wow, before Wow took the stage and performed “Who Am I (What’s My Name).” Bow Wow’s family sat up in the balcony, beaming, while a few seats away Coco, Ice-T’s voluptuous bride, looked on.

Ciara Headlines Pop and Hip-Hop Festival
Tonight, hitmaker Ciara leads a multiact program of pop, R&B and hip-hop to the park for the Campus Explosion Tour.

The Atlanta singer/songwriter/actress, born Ciara Princess Harris, began chalking up hits roughly a year out of high school after being signed to a record contract by veteran pop/soul music mogul L.A. Reid. Her 2004 debut album, Goodies, went double platinum and produced the hits 1, 2 Step and Oh, which featured Missy Elliott and Ludacris, respectively. The record's title song hit No. 1.

Ciara, who turns 22 in October, won a Grammy for another Elliot collaboration, Lose Control, in 2006. A follow-up album, Ciara: The Evolution, entered the Billboard charts at No. 1 in December and has produced the hits Can't Leave 'em Alone (with 50 Cent) and Like a Boy.

And that's just the headliner. The Campus Explosion Tour also will boast performances from:

• New Orleans/Atlanta R&B singer Lloyd, who teamed with Ashanti on the 2004 hit Southside. He is touring behind his own Street Love album.

• Brooke Hogan -- yep, the Hulkster's daughter. The reality-TV princess also is the voice behind last year's Undiscovered.

• Kentucky's own Nappy Roots, which was in town for its own show at The Dame last month.

• California dance-pop trio Audio Club.

• New York rapper Mims of This is Why I'm Hot fame.

6 p.m. Sept. 14 at Applebee's Park. $49, $65. (859) 422-7867

I don't know if this is true or not but That's Right might come out on Sept. 10

Ciara Plays Coy on 50 Cent Dating Rumors
Ciara fans, we asked. Really, we did. Many of you are dying to know if she and rapper 50 Cent are the latest hip-hop juggernauts to hook up since Janet and Jermaine and Beyonce and Jay-Z.

So when we met up with the R&B darling Sunday during an interview at Lenox Square’s Macy’s store prior to her autograph signing and promoting Jay-Z’s Rocawear clothing line, we pressed the issue:

Are you dating 50 Cent, yes or no?

[with the biggest, probably most adorable smile to come out of Riverdale High] We’re good friends.

C’mon, Ciara, that was a yes or no question. We’re trying to break some news here.

[after a hearty laugh] We’re just good friends.

OK, so who would you like to date past or present if not 50 Cent?

Oh! Tupac … he was soooo fine!

Buzz got to thinking — date Tupac, eh? Let’s see, he was a bad boy rapper. Had gotten shot. Not afraid to ruffle feathers. ‘Tats everywhere, chiseled abs. Hmm. Who else fits that description?

OK, so moving on, Buzz, feeling a connection since we were decked in the same style Rocawear jeans as Ciara (we mentioned she was worth hammering out a few wrinkles even though we detest ironing), enjoyed speaking with the ScreamFest Tour artist. We found her to be cordial, down to earth and a pure sweetheart.

She explained she wasn’t satisfied with her 3.4 grade point average at Riverdale High and that if she wasn’t a singer she’d like to be CEO of a modeling and acting company. She’d also like to run hair salons. Ciara’s most happy when she makes other people happy, she said, and her favorite fast food? Chick-fil-A — with barbecue sauce.

Buzz got a slight tummy ache after the singer explained why she only had water for breakfast Sunday morning.

“Last night, I pigged out on a cheeseburger with Swiss cheese and grilled onions with french fries that you put on the burger. Then, I had ice cream with strawberry shortcake.”

And, miraculously, she was able to still fit into her Rocawear low-risers the day after.
Ciara Officially the New Spokeswoman for Rocawear
R&B/Hip-Hop singer Ciara is officially the new spokeswoman for Rocawear clothing, of whom rapper Jay-Z is the founder, it was announced at Ciara's promotional appearance for the campaign at Macy's today (Wednesday). The new campaign she's participating in is called "I will not lose."

"I love the fact that there's a meaning with the clothes. That's my mentality for myself, I will never lose," said the artist on her involvement with the label. "I love that the line is broadening towards older audiences, because I'm getting older too, so I'm growing with it."

Jump Aboard the Tour Bus with Ciara
Touring isn't all glam outfits and tricked-out tour buses for songbird Ciara. In the midst of her Screamfest '07 tour, Ciara shares with USA TODAY her take on a day in her life on the road: Aug. 16. Her tour wraps up Sept. 2 in Universal City, Calif.

Noon
Today I'm in Detroit, where I'm having my sixth show of the tour. We left Cleveland early this morning at 5 a.m. and arrived at the hotel in Detroit just before 9. I didn't even know that we arrived so early, as I stayed asleep in my bed on the bus until now!

The hotel had a huge green lawn, so as soon as I awoke, I let my puppies, Tyson and Sugar, run around.

12:30 p.m.
After settling into my room, I went to the gym. I did 30 minutes of cardio, a series of different machines with 20 reps in sets of three, and I ended my workout with about 15 minutes of stomach exercises.

After the gym, I had a creative meeting with my team to go over the new edit for my show. I'm still working to make sure I've ironed out all the little kinks. It's truly a creative process, and I want to make sure that everything is done right, so my fans are not disappointed!

2:30 p.m.
Our lobby call time, so I had to make sure I had everything I needed for my show from the hotel. We rode the bus over to the venue (the Joe Louis Arena). It was a quick ride, only 10-15 minutes, but me and my team had fun laughing and telling stories.

3 p.m.
I arrived at the venue and headed straight to sound check. This is also the time that my dancers and I go over the show and perfect any last-minute changes we may have made. After sound check, I had a minute to chill in my dressing room and play with my puppies.

5:30 p.m.
I did a radio interview with Detroit radio stations and a meet 'n' greet with 20 fans. I love this part of the day because interacting with my fans is very special for me.

6 p.m.
I started (to get) glam for my show, about an hour to have my makeup and hair done. Sometimes it takes longer because me and my glam squad love to have girl talk, and we get distracted. After I was done, I took a walk over to catering to see if there was anything I wanted to eat. While I was there, I ran into promoter Michael Mauldin, and we briefly discussed the pyro for my show.

8:30 p.m.
I got dressed in the first look of my show. I like to dress early, so there's no last-minute panic and I can just zone out before showtime.

9:10 p.m.
We had show prayer — my dancers, Tiffany Evans (a hot new singer I mentor who's on tour with me) and I. We ended our group huddle screaming, "Teamwork makes a dream work — we do this!" That always helps us get amped and excited.

9:20 p.m.
Showtime! As soon as I hit the stage, the crowd went crazy. There's nothing more exciting than being able to perform for your fans, especially in large arenas.

10:40 p.m.
The show is over, and as soon as I walked offstage, I headed straight for the bus. I went back to the hotel to shower, but we didn't have long, as we had a 3 a.m. call time! Luckily, our bus was parked right outside the hotel, so as soon as I changed, I went on the bus so I could sleep. It was a long day and I was beat! Plus, we had less than 24 hours to get to the next city and do it all over again.

Screamfest Gets Southern Flavor
This year's Scream Tour is celebrating its Southern roots, according to Atlanta-born rapper T.I
"Pretty much everybody on this tour is an Atlanta native," said the headlining artist, who also celebrated a second week at No. 1 for his new "T.I. vs. T.I.P." album, at a Manhattan press conference Wednesday afternoon. "We gonna turn every city into Atlanta."

Along with T.I., this year's tour -- dubbed Screamfest '07 -- includes Young Joc (also born in Atlanta), co-headliner Ciara and opening act Lloyd (both born elsewhere but raised in Atlanta) and T-Pain (who now lives there). On Wednesday, four of them howed up to the Times Square club Spotlight Live to promote the tour, which is donating part of its proceeds to the city of New Orleans, still struggling in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. (T-Pain was absent from the conference due to a delayed flight from Los Angeles.)

Ciara recalled her experience in Louisiana filming the upcoming movie "Mama, I Want to Sing!" After meeting a group of local children, she said, she gave them concert tickets and also donated a refrigerator and a microwave she'd been using during the shoot. "Giving is important," she said.

~
Hollywood came to two Baton Rouge churches this summer through the making of a major faith-based movie.

“Mama, I Want to Sing!” is the story of a female evangelist’s daughter who rises from a small church choir to become a world-famous pop star. Grammy Award-winning singer and dancer Ciara plays Amara, who is in conflict with her mother, Lillian Winter, played by Emmy Award winner and Baton Rouge native Lynn Whitfield.

The movie also features Grammy-winning R&B legend Patti LaBelle, Prophetess Juanita Bynum, Kelly Rowland, Ben Vereen, Kevin Phillips and Billy Zane.

Several scenes were filmed at Living Faith Christian Center, 9522 Winbourne Ave., and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive. Other scenes for the $3-million production, with a cast and crew of 150, were filmed at Baton Rouge Community College and the Shaw Center.

The film, to be released in late 2007 or early 2008, is produced by CodeBlack Entertainment in cooperation with 20th Century Fox’s Fox Faith label, a new label “of morally driven, family-friendly programming,” according to the Fox Faith Web page.

“Mama,” written and directed by nationally known playwright Charles Randolph-Wright, is a modern adaptation of the 1960s-era, black-gospel theater production by Vy Higgensen.

“The movie deals with a lot of issues but the main issue, for me, is the family and the love of family that is redeeming,” said Randolph-Wright during an interview between shooting scenes at Baton Rouge Community College.

“So no matter what you deal with, no matter what circumstance you go through, that family base — which is grounded in the church — that’s the thing that carries us all through.

“It deals with a human story — a woman who is an extraordinary minister — but to become that minister she unintentionally neglected her family,” Randolph-Wright said. “You have this conflict between a superstar daughter and superstar mother in the religious world.”
Randolph-Wright said he updated the 1960s-era story to 2007 by adding some characters and twists to the plot, and changing some characters. The original Higgensen story was about her older sister Doris Troy who got a job at the Apollo Theater against her mother’s wishes. When her church-going mother confronted Troy, the girl retorted, “Mama, I just want to sing!”

Randolph-Wright added a pastor-father, played by the Rev. Marvin Winans, and a brother, played by Kevin Phillips, a news photographer who gets killed in Iraq.

“Amara loves her father who died in the pulpit when she was 10,” Randolph-Wright said. “He always told her to live a life worthy of the calling and she carries that voice with her. She conflicts with her mother because of what she sings and how she looks. That’s a conflict with what her mother considers to be proper, to be right.

“They both feel they are right and they’re both going through the same things because in the mother’s world of religious television — it’s the same as (secular) television,” Randolph-Wright said. “Ultimately, redemption is a huge thing for me. The redemption may not be what you expect it to be, but it happens.”

The film should appeal to both general and Christian audiences, Randolph-Wright said. “It tells a story that is close to all of our hearts and it tells it in a contemporary context.”

Several church scenes featuring Whitfield’s evangelist character and Bynum’s Christian television producer character were filmed at Living Faith Christian Center last Saturday before about 400 area residents and church members.

“This is a great opportunity for our church,” said Bishop Raymond W. Johnson who sat on the platform during the filming.

He said he was looking forward to the movie’s debut because, “many Christian families like to go to the movies with their children but they are often embarrassed by the bad story lines. This is a story that will resonate with many people.”

East Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden said he is pleased about this particular movie as well as others being filmed in Baton Rouge.
“We’re getting inquiries from people all over the nation who want to come here to make films,” Holden said. “We’re proving that Baton Rouge is a force to be reckoned with.”

Holden said he was also happy with the film’s moral message.

“Hollywood is waking up to Christian movie-goers. They looked at the success of Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” and they realize the potential to make money with that audience is unlimited.”

When Bynum, portraying the manager of Revelation Network, expressed the need for moral programming to counter-act the sex and violence of secular television, the Living Faith Christian Center audience cheered and agreed, as if at a Sunday service.

Whitfield, dressed in a white bishop’s robe, received a warm welcome by the crowd before the filming of her scene. “Evangelist” Whitfield thanked “my hometown people for lifting me up” as she portrayed an emotional, television evangelist.

The scenes featuring Amara singing as a young girl were filmed at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in mid-June. “I was thrilled because people left the filming saying ‘we had church,’” Randolph-Wright said.

“We were very flattered to have them here,” said Shiloh’s pastor, the Rev. Charles T. Smith, who sat on his church’s stage during the filming. “I’ve never been that close to the making of a movie.”

Local youngster Sheleric Self, who will debut as the young Amara, performed at the Shiloh Baptist filming.

“When you hear her sing, it’s definitely church; it’s definitely a religious experience,” Randolph-Wright said. “That’s one of the most extraordinary performances I’ve ever seen.”

Kevin Phillips III, whose recent film credits include “Pride,” “American Gun” and “Rock the Paint,” plays Amara’s news-photographer brother.

He said he is pleased to be part of a movie that espouses family values and faith-based themes.

“I’m a firm believer in Christianity,” Phillips said. He appreciates the faith-based aspect of the film because “you don’t hear bad language on the set and nobody is smoking or drinking. I’m glad to be here — by the grace of God.”

Ben Vereen, who plays Amara’s grandfather, is well known to the American public through more than 100 film, television and theater credits. He said the movie is not just about and for Christians, “it’s about faith. It’s a wonderful story.

“I bring my faith to everything I do,” Vereen said. “There are many trails to the top of the mountain — you pick one — it’s just important to get there. There is one divine truth in all of us — God, Allah, Elohim, the light — I have faith in that.”

Randolph-Wright said he appreciates directing a faith-based movie, especially since he can bring his personal faith to the project.
“I grew up in a mixed family of Methodists and Baptists and was a religion major at Duke University,” Randolph-Wright said.

“Whatever city I go to, I go to church. I always tell people that now that I’m ‘successful,’ I need church more than ever. When you get success — that’s when you need to be the most grateful and realize the blessing that this is a gift — it’s not something that you created.

“A friend has a sign on her typewriter that says ‘God, you write it, I’ll type it.” That’s what I feel.”

What in the world was 50 Cent thinking during his performance of "Amusement Park" at the BET Awards? That seems to be the biggest question that's being asked in the wake of Tuesday's show. But the second-most-asked query has to be, what was Ciara trying to say with her robe? When she exited the stage to dance into the crowd during her performance of "Like a Boy," she ended James Brown style, getting a robe thrown on her — with a curious "25?" across the back.

Speculation has been raining down ever since. Some have said that, because Ciara is rumored to be dating 50 Cent, the 25 was a nod to their relationship. (Get it? Half of 50 is 25.) Others have said that, since she has also been linked to NFL star Reggie Bush, she might have been trying to tease her alleged relationship with New Orleans Saints player #25.

It’s surprising what some people can accomplish by 21. Ciara dropped an album (Goodies) that sold nearly five million copies and a follow-up (The Evolution) that debuted at number one. But did she ever work the fryer at Arby’s? Ha, thought not.
