DonyaInMusic: speaking of dancing...
DonyaInMusic: Did you catch Janet Jackson on 106th & Park the other day? She said that your video for "Get Up" reminded her of her.
CiaraGetUp12Step: yes, I actually did get to catch it
DonyaInMusic: What do you think of the comparisons people make between you and Janet and Aaliyah?
CiaraGetUp12Step: First, i would have to start off by saying that i have a tremendous amount of respect for the two. i wish aaliyah was still here. she was so beautiful. i think its even more crazy when i hear people that were close to her say i remind them of her on a personal note. all i ever hear is positive things about her, so that definitely means a lot. janet has been one of my inspirations since i could understand the word entertainment :-) i will also say that, being that i hear so many of the janet comparisons, i am really inspired to become my own.
DonyaInMusic: Is there any artist out now that reminds YOU of yourself?
CiaraGetUp12Step: i will be very honest, i feel that just about every female that's out right now has created their own lane. which to me, makes music even more exciting. takes me back to when there was whitney, janet, diana, patti labelle, aretha and so many beautiful talented women that were out at the same time. but they all had something different to offer. And they're all still out!! that is crazy but so dope to me! :)
DonyaInMusic: Yeah, I saw your iTunes play list so you definitely have love for everyone.
CiaraGetUp12Step: absolutely! :) why not ya know?
DonyaInMusic: Ok, I have to ask the question everyone wants to know the answer to.
DonyaInMusic: Why did you and Bow Wow break up?
CiaraGetUp12Step: well, honestly...that's just one thing i don't talk about. But what i will tell my fans is that i am @ a point in my life and career to whereas i feel that is an old conversation and i am very excited about the future and my new album thats coming out NOV 14 titled 'Ciara: The Evolution!!' i cant wait for you to hear the music! :)
DonyaInMusic: ok, just tell me this then...do you think you would ever date someone who was that much shorter than you again?
DonyaInMusic: all the 5 foot guys are dying to know ;)

CiaraGetUp12Step: Hey Donya. how are u?
DonyaInMusic: What's up Miss Ciara?
CiaraGetUp12Step: just leaving rehearsals for 'so you think you can dance.' This is funny to me for some reason, i have never done an interview over the computer :-) lol
DonyaInMusic: Ha, Ha. Yeah, we try to do things a little different over here.
DonyaInMusic: Are you on the computer or on a Sidekick?
CiaraGetUp12Step: computer
DonyaInMusic: Ok, cool. So how did the rehearsals go?
CiaraGetUp12Step: They went very well actually.
DonyaInMusic: I'm sure everyone was working their butts off trying to impress you
CiaraGetUp12Step: lol, its funny because a lot of my dancers have been with me for a while now. But the one thing i love about them is that they give their all every rehearsal, every show. They are very sweet
DonyaInMusic: I have to say I was in the mirror for a minute trying to get that Matrix move down from your 'Goodies' video ;)
DonyaInMusic: When did you first start dancing?
CiaraGetUp12Step: Ever since i could walk i have been moving to the music :-)
DonyaInMusic: Have you ever messed up badly or fallen in the middle of a routine?
CiaraGetUp12Step: I can recall a few times that i forgot parts to my routine :-) that's when i just step out and sing. I'll look around to see where my dancers are in the routine and pop right back in :-)
DonyaInMusic: Ok, so you do the nice save. No breaking out into a "ho-down" like Ashlee Simpson

DonyaInMusic: Ok, so tell us about this new album The Evolution
CiaraGetUp12Step: Its titled 'Ciara: The Evolution' and I'm excited about it cause there are a lot of new producers as well as some that I have always aspired to work with. I am also writing more and co-producing more records. Its funny because on my first album, I was pretty much in control and this time around I am in even more control. I can feel growth as an artist all around. I really can't wait for you to hear it!!!
DonyaInMusic: Any idea what the first single will be?
CiaraGetUp12Step: Yes, there is this one song that I wrote that I think is so dope and different but as of now its so hard to pick the one. i'm pretty sure that once we get closer to time to pick, i will know :-)
DonyaInMusic: Are you gonna switch up your style for this CD too? I remember seeing somewhere that before last year's VMA's, your stylist couldn't get you into dresses.
CiaraGetUp12Step: I do think that my style is definitely evolving so you're gonna just have to stay tuned! :-)
DonyaInMusic: Ciara, it's been great chatting with you.
